Taxi from Barcelona cruise port to the city centre — fixed price €40
A short run from the cruise terminals into the city — the Gothic Quarter, the Eixample, or your hotel door — and from the hotel back to your ship. Booked ahead, so when three thousand people leave the ship at once you are not standing in the rank queue with them.
- Fixed price
- €40
- Distance
- 7 km
- Typical time
- 18 min
What the price includes
- The whole fare for this exact trip, agreed before you get in — nothing added at the end.
- Any airport or cruise terminal access charge and all motorway tolls.
- 30 minutes of waiting at no charge at a terminal, 15 minutes anywhere else, then an hourly rate. A delayed flight moves the pick-up instead, and costs nothing.
- Luggage for up to 4 passengers. A minivan is available for larger groups.
- Card or cash, your choice. Most trips are paid in the car; on some I ask for a deposit or the fare in advance.
Pick-up at your terminal
I collect you outside your own terminal building at Moll Adossat, not at the port gate. Send me the ship name and terminal letter and I will be at the right one.
On heavy disembarkation mornings the port authority sometimes restricts vehicle access to the quay. If that happens on your date I will tell you the night before and we will meet at the World Trade Center pick-up point instead, which is a short shuttle ride away.
If you are joining a ship rather than leaving one, the same applies in reverse: I drop you at the terminal door, and there is time built in for the queue at the security check.
Into the city
It is about 7 km from Moll Adossat to Plaça de Catalunya and normally takes under 20 minutes along the Ronda Litoral. The Gothic Quarter and Barceloneta are closer still; Gràcia and the upper Eixample add five to ten minutes.
Where you are actually going matters more on this trip than on any other, because the distances involved are so short. A run to Barceloneta is a third of the distance of a run to Pedralbes, and the price should reflect that rather than being flattened into a single "port to city" figure.
If you have a few hours before your flight or your ship, I can also do this as a drive with stops — Sagrada Família, Park Güell, Montjuïc — charged by the hour instead. Just ask.
Where in the city you are going
The run is short, so the address decides more than the distance does — which streets a car can reach, and whether there is a train or a flight behind it. Tell me where you are staying when you book and I will tell you exactly where we stop.
The Gothic Quarter and La Rambla
The nearest part of the old city, a few minutes from the terminals. Most of its streets are pedestrianised or too narrow for a car, so a taxi cannot reach the majority of its addresses — give me the street and I will name the corner we stop at. If you are travelling light, this is the one destination where the port shuttle bus to Colom is a fair alternative.
The Eixample and Passeig de Gràcia
Where most cruise passengers spend the night before or after sailing, and the easiest part of Barcelona to be dropped in: every block has a corner and every corner works. Give me the street and the nearest cross street rather than only a number, and I stop at the door.
The Sagrada Família
On the far side of the Eixample from the port, so a few minutes longer than Plaça de Catalunya. If you are going to visit rather than to sleep, the luggage is the problem — tell me, and either we drop the bags at the hotel first or you take the car by the hour and they stay in the boot.
Barceloneta
Five minutes from the terminals and the shortest run on this page, priced on its real distance rather than a flat port-to-city figure. Cars reach Passeig de Joan de Borbó and Passeig Marítim reliably; the narrow streets between them mostly not.
Sants station and the airport
Straight off the ship and on to a train or a flight. A disembarkation morning is the one time this short drive can be slow, so give me the train or flight time when you book and I will work the pick-up back from it.
Getting there another way
A taxi is not always the right answer. Here is the honest comparison for this trip.
| Option | Time | Cost | Best when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Port shuttle bus to Colom | 15 min plus a walk or metro | A few euros per person each way | You are travelling light and your hotel is near La Rambla. |
| Walking | 35–45 min from the terminals | Free | Not realistic — the quay is a working port and pedestrian access is restricted. |
| Taxi | 15–20 min door to door | From the real distance, agreed in advance | Any luggage at all, or anyone who does not want to change vehicles twice. |
Questions about this trip
How much is a taxi from Barcelona cruise port to the city centre?
The fixed price to the centre is €40 for up to four passengers, with the luggage, the port charges and thirty minutes of waiting at the terminal inside it. It is worked out on the real distance to your address, so Barceloneta costs less and the upper Eixample a little more — put your hotel into the form and you see the exact figure before you book.
Why book ahead instead of taking a taxi at the port?
Because a ship empties all at once. When three thousand people leave the terminal in the same hour, the rank queue is the slowest part of the whole trip. Booked ahead, I am waiting outside your terminal, the bags go straight in, and the price was settled before you sailed. A van for up to eight, or child seats already fitted, has to be arranged in advance — the rank cannot do either.
Can you take us from our hotel to the ship?
Yes. I collect you at the hotel door and drop you at your terminal, with time built in for the check-in queue. Give me the ship name and your boarding time and I will suggest when to leave.
Can a taxi drive right up to the cruise terminal?
Yes, in normal conditions taxis reach the terminal buildings at Moll Adossat directly. On a few very busy mornings the port restricts access, and we would meet at the World Trade Center point instead — I would tell you in advance.
How early should I book for disembarkation day?
The night before is enough. Give me the ship name and roughly when you expect to clear the terminal; I would rather wait for you than have you queue.
Can you take us on a tour before our flight?
Yes. Hourly hire is available with a two-hour minimum, and luggage stays in the car between stops.
