Barcelona to the Costa Brava — fixed price €193
Door-to-door to Lloret de Mar, Tossa, Blanes or further up the coast. About an hour and twenty minutes from the airport, with the tolls already in the price and no shuttle to wait for at the other end.
- Fixed price
- €193
- Distance
- 95 km
- Typical time
- 80 min
What the price includes
- The whole fare for this exact trip, agreed before you get in — nothing added at the end.
- Any airport or cruise terminal access charge and all motorway tolls.
- 30 minutes of waiting at no charge at a terminal, 15 minutes anywhere else, then an hourly rate. A delayed flight moves the pick-up instead, and costs nothing.
- Luggage for up to 4 passengers. A minivan is available for larger groups.
- Card or cash, your choice. Most trips are paid in the car; on some I ask for a deposit or the fare in advance.
Getting picked up
Almost all Costa Brava transfers start at BCN Airport. I meet you inside arrivals with a sign, and the pick-up follows your real landing time at no charge — useful on this route, because a delayed evening flight can otherwise leave you looking for a coach that stopped running.
From the city I collect at your hotel or apartment door. If you are staying somewhere in the Gothic Quarter where cars cannot reach, I will name the nearest corner when I confirm.
Coming back the other way works the same: I collect from your Costa Brava hotel at whatever time your flight needs, including the 04:00 starts that the coaches do not cover.
The drive north
It is around 95 km to Lloret, most of it on the AP-7 and then the C-32, and normally takes an hour and twenty minutes. Tossa is another fifteen minutes on a winding coast road; Blanes and Malgrat are slightly closer than Lloret.
The final approach to Tossa, the GI-682, is genuinely twisty and beautiful. If anyone in the car is prone to motion sickness, say so and I will take the slightly longer inland route instead — it costs the same.
Summer Saturdays are changeover day for most of the coast, and the AP-7 north of Mataró can be slow between 10:00 and 13:00. A fixed price protects you from that entirely.
The towns on this run
"Costa Brava" covers a hundred kilometres of coast, so the one that matters is the town. Give me the hotel and the price is worked out to it.
Lloret de Mar
The busiest destination on this route and the one most transfers end at — about 95 km, mostly AP-7 then the C-32, usually an hour and twenty from the airport.
Tossa de Mar
Fifteen minutes beyond Lloret on the old coast road, which is narrow and full of bends. Worth knowing if you are prone to car sickness, and worth allowing for on a departure.
Blanes and Malgrat de Mar
Slightly closer than Lloret, and the first towns you reach coming up the coast. Blanes has the botanical garden and the harbour at the south end of the Costa Brava proper.
Calella and Pineda
On the Maresme coast before the Costa Brava begins, so a shorter run than Lloret. Straightforward door-to-door at any hour.
Platja d'Aro, Sant Feliu and Palamós
Further north and a longer drive than Lloret. These are the ones where a coach means a change and a wait, and where a direct car saves the most time.
Getting there another way
A taxi is not always the right answer. Here is the honest comparison for this trip.
| Option | Time | Cost | Best when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sagalés / Moventis coach | 90–120 min, seasonal timetable | €15–€20 per person | A solo traveller arriving mid-afternoon in high season, when the coaches actually run. |
| Train to Blanes plus bus | 2 h 15 with two changes | €12–€14 per person | Rarely worth it with luggage, and impossible late at night. |
| Taxi | 1 h 20 door to door | Fixed, tolls included | Families, groups of three or more, late arrivals, or any hotel away from the coach stop. |
Questions about this trip
Which Costa Brava towns do you cover?
Lloret de Mar, Tossa de Mar, Blanes, Malgrat, Santa Susanna, Calella, Platja d’Aro, Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Palamós and Calella de Palafrugell, among others. Distances differ, so the price is calculated for the exact town.
Is this cheaper than two coach tickets?
For one person, no. For three or four people it is usually comparable once you count every ticket, and it takes you to the hotel door at any hour instead of to a stop on the main road.
Can you do a very early return to the airport?
Yes — pick-ups at three or four in the morning are routine on this route. They fall in the T-2 night band, so they cost more than a daytime run; put your real time into the calculator and you will have the fixed price for that hour before you book.
How many suitcases fit for a family of four?
Four passengers with four large cases fit the saloon. Beach holidays often mean more, so if you are close to the limit choose the minivan by setting five or more passengers, or just tell me in the message.
