Areas I cover
Every Barcelona neighbourhood and the metropolitan towns around it. Each page gives the real distances and prices from that area — because a run from Hospitalet and one from Sant Cugat are nothing like the same trip.
Eixample
The grid, and the easiest part of Barcelona to be picked up in — every block has a corner and every corner works.
Gothic Quarter
The oldest part of the city, and the one where the pick-up point matters more than the price.
Gràcia
A village that the city grew around, uphill from the Eixample and with the streets to prove it.
Sants
The main railway station and the district around it — where most people arrive by train and want to be somewhere else quickly.
Barceloneta
The old fishermen’s quarter between the port and the beach, five minutes from the cruise terminals and a world away from the grid.
Sarrià–Sant Gervasi
Uptown Barcelona — quieter, greener, steeper, and further from everything than people expect.
Poblenou
The old industrial quarter turned tech district, along the coast north-east of the centre.
Les Corts
The stadium, the business end of the Diagonal, and the hotels that serve both.
Sant Cugat del Vallès
Over the hill from Barcelona, and far enough from it that the route you take genuinely changes the fare.
L'Hospitalet de Llobregat
The closest sizeable town to the airport, which makes it the cheapest airport run anywhere in the metropolitan area.
Gavà
Ten minutes from the terminals, which makes it one of the easiest airport runs on the coast — and one of the cheapest.
Castelldefels
A long beach, a hill with a castle on it, and a fifteen-minute run to the airport that makes it a favourite with people who fly often.
Badalona
The coast north of the Besòs, and one of the longest airport runs I do — which makes it the one worth booking earliest.
Cornellà de Llobregat
Inland in the Baix Llobregat, and the one area I cover where the airport and the city centre are almost exactly the same trip.
Why there is no single airport price
Every one of these pages answers the same question — what does it cost to the airport — and they give twelve different answers, because the spread is far wider than people expect. Gavà, Hospitalet and Castelldefels sit closest to the terminals. Sant Cugat, on the far side of Collserola, is roughly three times the distance.
That is the whole reason this site has a calculator instead of a zone map. A flat city price either overcharges the short runs or loses money on the long ones, so each quote is worked out from the real driving distance of your actual address — and it is fixed before you travel either way.
