How booking a taxi in Barcelona works

There are three ways to get a taxi here. You can raise a hand at one of the green-light cars in the street, you can join a rank outside a station or a terminal, or you can arrange one in advance. The first two run on the meter and depend on what the traffic does that day.

Booking ahead is the third, and it is what this form does. You get a price agreed before you travel, a car held for your time, and a driver who already knows your flight number and where you are going.

What you can book here

Airport transfers at BCN, T1 and T2, met inside the arrivals hall with your flight tracked. The other way round, picked up at the door at whatever time your flight needs.

Cruise port: the Moll Adossat and the World Trade Center terminal, both directions, with the pick-up set from the moment the ship actually docks.

Long runs at a fixed price: Sitges, Tarragona, PortAventura, Reus, Girona, the Costa Brava and Andorra. The tolls are inside the price you see.

And an ordinary trip across town at any hour. Booking works the same for ten minutes as for two hours — what changes is that you know the price and a car is held for you.

What you need to have ready

Where you are being picked up and where you are going — an address, a hotel name, a terminal or the cruise berth. How many of you there are and how much luggage, which is what the right car is suggested from — you can take a bigger one if you would rather. The date and time, and your flight or ship number if you have one.

That is all — no account, and no card details on this site. Most trips are paid in the car at the end; on some I ask for a deposit or for the fare up front, and I tell you which when I confirm.

After you send it

The booking lands on my phone and comes back confirmed in writing, usually within minutes — the car, the exact meeting point and the price. If anything about the trip needs changing, one message is enough, and cancelling is free up to 3 hours before the pick-up.
